In February, UK businesses celebrated national apprentice week and we are very proud to announce that Blythin & Brown is giving a helping hand to local young people having appointed Jack Elsmore as an apprentice business administrator.
Jack (16) joins the company on an apprenticeship which has been arranged by Loughborough College having completed his education at Rawlins Academy in Quorn.
In his new role, Jack will assist the management team with general office administration and support marketing and business development activities.
Commenting, Richard Picton said, “Jack was recommended by an employee and at the same time I was approached about apprenticeships by Loughborough College. Jack was very keen to leave school and pursue a career in business and we were delighted to be able to offer him the opportunity to gain work experience, learn new skills and achieve a recognised qualification.”
Paula Cochrane from Loughborough College added, “We get great satisfaction from working with local businesses that are willing to invest time in nurturing young people. Apprenticeships offer an invaluable opportunity for young people to work in a practical environment and alongside industry professionals to gain the skills required to develop a successful career.”
In 2021, Blythin & Brown completed a management buy-out from two retiring directors, Stephen Lewis & Richard Blythin. Blythin and Brown provide business insurance advice to owner-managed businesses that value personal service from a dedicated person that understands their businesses.
Blythin and Brown also operate national specialist schemes with a specific niche to offer insurance for individual equipment hire and all marquee and outdoor event equipment hirers across the UK & Northern Ireland. In September, the company will celebrate its 50th anniversary with Richard Picton and Jonathan Blythin at the helm. The management team is the third generation of the Blythin family and its co-founders since the incorporation of the business in 1972.
